Snowshoeing By Moonlight

One winter activity that is the most memorable in the Adirondacks is snowshoeing by the pale moon light (sounds like the Joker). The forests are perfectly silent with the snow muffling ambient noises. With the moonlight shining on the snow covered trails, it feels like broad daylight... ofcourse after our eyes got ajusted. It is a great experience for all winter enthusiasts.

Hiking Baldface Mountain

Great mixture of canoeing and hiking. This Adirondack trail is only accessible by water. The hike is beginner level with a moderate incline and about 1 1/2 miles long. The view at the top is breath taking. A beautiful panoramic view of Indian Lake stretching almost 14 miles long. It is a great place for a picnic on a summer day. Autumn is great for this trail as the mountains are filled with colors reaching the horizon.

Hiking Snowy Mountain

Snowy Mountain trail in the Adirondacks near Indian Lake, New York is a beautiful hike. It is full of babbling streams or rushing creeks during the spring. There is an elevation rise of around 700 ft to the peak while traversing over a few lower peaks on the way. The last section of the hike is a bit challenging. It is more like hands and knees climbing than hiking. The view from the top is spectacular. Round trip takes about two and a half hours.
