A month ago was the best summrer whitewater rafting ever on the Hudson. We had record amount of rain in the Adirondacks and Indian Lake was at a 100 year high. The dam that controls the water flow into Indian River that empties into the Hudson was wide open for a couple of weeks to bring the lake back to its normal summer levels. As a result, the rivers were flowing like snow melt season. However, the water was definitely much warmer than in the spring making rafting a lot more bearable.
It was quite the gift to whitewater enthusiasts.
